Our innovative team includes experts in IC cards and flexible electronics. We have developed the first EMV compliant smart card embedded with a display. Now we have a significant capacity in mass production of smart card with display and/or finger print recognition functions.

SEP 2009	Anica was founded In September 2009 in Taiwan, aiming at developing display smart card with a vision to Animating the World on Smart Card.
JUN 2010	Anica developed world's first EMV display smart card with Atmel technical support.
OCT 2010	Anica jointly unveiled invoice smart card with display function with Taiwan's tax bureau under Ministry of Finance.
SEP 2011	From September 2011, Anica was granted patents by U.S., Japan, Mainland China and Taiwan for display smart card innovations.
OCT 2011	Anica was invited by MasterCard to release world's first Master credit card with display function at Wukesong Stadium in Beijing.
APR 2012	Anica was invited by China's UnionPay to participate in committee of display smart card standard.
APR 2013	Anica jointly introduced the world's first dot matrix display smart card with Taiwan's Acer Wistron Group.
JUN 2013	China's UnionPay published display smart card standard in which Anica provided all working samples.
FEB 2015	Anica received order from Taiwan's ITRI to produce cholesterol LCD display card.
NOV 2017	Anica established production line to cold laminate smart cards in a capacity of 300,000 pieces a month.

TECHNOLOGY

SMART CARD

A smart card, chip card, or integrated circuit card (ICC), is any pocket-sized card with embedded integrated circuits which can process data. This implies that it can receive input which is processed — by way of the ICC applications — and delivered as an output. There are two broad categories of ICCs. Memory cards contain only non-volatile memory storage components, and perhaps some specific security logic. Microprocessor cards contain volatile memory and microprocessor components. The card is made of plastic, generally PVC, but sometimes ABS or polycarbonate. The card may embed a hologram to avoid counterfeiting. Using smart cards is also a form of strong security authentication for single sign-on within large companies and organizations.

E-PAPER DISPLAY

Electronic paper, e-paper or electronic ink display, is a display technology designed to mimic the appearance of ordinary ink on paper. Unlike a conventional flat panel display, which uses a back light to illuminate its pixels, electronic paper reflects light like ordinary paper and is capable of holding text and images indefinitely without drawing electricity, while allowing the image to be changed later. Anica embeds e-paper modules into smart card, making display smart card able to show information without constant power supply.

FINGER PRINT RECOGNITION MODULE

Finger print recognition is a bio-metric technology using algorithms to identify a scanned finger print. The identified person will be allowed to make transactions, enter a gateway, etc. Anica offers mature technology and integrate into smart card by its leading cold lamination card manufacturing capability.

COLD LAMINATION

Smart card integrated with electronic components must not be laminated under conditions such as high temperature and high pressure. Anica, after years of research and development, is able to provide a leading manufacturing capability by cold lamination. Steps include:
